 Congratulations to Theresa Tran for being the recipient of  a $5,000 scholarship fromThe Children's Defense Fund Beat the Odds Program. "The CDF Beat the Odds program honors outstanding high schools students who have overcome tremendous adversity, demonstrated academic excellence and given back to their communities." Mariah  

Junior, Mariah Porter capped off her record-breaking season by being named Honorable Mention on the Associated Press All-Ohio Division III Team.  She was also 1st team CVC and 2nd team Northeast Lakes All-District.  This season, Mariah broke three school records that had stood since 1976: Most Rebounds in a season, 366; Most Rebounds in a Game, 31; and Most Defensive Rebounds in a Game, 22.

 
 
 

NHS Tapping and Induction

 Wickliffe High School celebrated the time-honored tradition of tapping and inducting thirty four students into the National Honor Society. The new inductees include Abbey Allen, Jessica Allen, James Barrows, Patrick Bonano, Ana Brodnick, Neil Burkett, Michael Carroll, Sarah Foster, Rachel Franks, Mackenzie Gardner, Alexis Gricar, Gaston Gosselin, Emily Konik, Samantha Koster, Laura Leili, Chantrell Lewis, Harley Mash, Miranda Moulton, Carly Palgut, Abbey Picciano, Joseph Ponzani, Jessica Richter, Leanne Riedthaler, Megan Scarinzi, Sarauv Sharma, Brook Sheredy, Angela Somody, Chloe Tennant, Rachel Thomeier, Trevor Tucker, Hannah Wagner, Mackenzie Ward, Ciera West, and Steven Young. The Tapping Ceremony was planned and conducted by the National Honor Society Officers and featured honorary inductions of students and staff who were recognized as embodying the four pillars of Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. The new inductees were recognized after the Tapping Ceremony at a brunch with current members, advisor Mindy Hotchkiss, administration and members of the Board of Education.

Fitness Center in High School Coming in Fall
As part of the Carol M. White Physical Education Grant the school will be adding a state of the art exercise and wellness facility. Treadmills, elliptical machines, and stationary bikes as well as strength and conditioning equipment will be installed over the summer and ready for student and community use in the fall.

Wickliffe Middle School Honors Students at Awards Night

On May 21st, Wickliffe Middle School honorednearly 180 students at the annual Wickliffe Middle School Awards Night.  Those students honored included:

·     80 Merit Roll students (3.5-3.99 GPA)

·     60 Scholarship students (4.0 and above)

·     22 WMS Ambassadors

The Pete's Pond Preserve Dedication Ceremony was a success! The Preserve offers 1.15-miles of improved trail for exercise and exploration for our students and the Wickliffe community! This park was made possible through a collaborative partnership between the Wickliffe City School District and the Lake Metroparks.
